About
Hello, I'm Richard.
I'm a software engineer and engineering manager in Berlin. Slowburn Studios is where I build the things I'm curious about, one at a time and in no particular hurry.
The story so far
I've spent more than eight years building software in fast-moving teams, from FinTech OCR platforms to sustainability metrics tools. Along the way I picked up a deep appreciation for doing things properly, even when that means doing them slowly.
The name says it all. Slowburn isn't about rushing to market or chasing scale. Every project starts as a learning exercise, a curiosity, or a problem I've run into myself.
Some stay small. Some grow. All of them teach me something.

Craft over speed
I'd rather ship something solid in a month than something fragile in a week.

Every project is an excuse to try a new framework, language or pattern. Curiosity is the fuel.

Privacy-respecting apps, mentoring developers: people are at the centre of the work.
